Please note that these stones have been treated. The patterns and banding are 100% natural, but they have been heated to enhance the coloring. I don't typically carry many treated stones, so I wanted to make it clear. Natural Sardonyx is not this vibrant. Sard = brownish red carnelian/chalcedony, onyx = historically refers to stones with parallel layers (today it typically refers to black). Sardonyx has both of these properties. Though this name has historically been used for straight banding, some folks call this material Madagascar banded agate instead.
