GROUNDING - BRING ABOUT CHANGE - START ANEW - WISDOM - ROAD OPENING.

This listing is for (1) fossilized coral raw piece, which will be intuitively selected. As these are natural stone, they may differ in size and appearance from those pictured. Please note that coral's natural texture has pitting and gaps, and this material has very fine druzy inside of the horn-like coral cavities.

Approx. on average 1.5-2" each, photo in hand for scale.

Fossil Coral

Grounding - bring about change - start anew - road opening - foresight - wisdom.

These are Fletcheria guelphensis, an extinct species of colonial rugose (horn) coral from the Middle Silurian period (roughly 420-440 million years ago). They get their name from the hornlike structures built by the coral animal.

They have gorgeous druzy filled cavities in dolostone (sedimentary rock made of mostly dolomite).

These are very often used as an index fossil to help correlate the geological ages of different formations. They went extinct during the great Permian extinction 251 million years ago. This mass extinction event known as “the great dying” was Earth’s most severe extinction event and wiped out roughly 90% of all species (~96% of marine life). It is thought to have been caused by global warming due to gases created during a series of massive volcanic eruptions in Siberia that left ocean animals unable to breathe.

Sourced from a limestone quarry in Ohio. My supplier mines it themselves. These were hand selected at the Denver Gem Show.

AVOID WATER & SELF CARE PRODUCTS

Avoid exposure to water (especially saltwater and chlorine), lotions, sprays, soap, etc because they can damage the elastic over time - and this can lead to snapping. Even the oils and sweat on our skin can wear out the elastic eventually.

Remove your bracelet when bathing, swimming, doing the dishes, etc. These activities can also dull the crystals.

STORAGE + CLEANING

Every bracelet comes with an organic cotton pouch for safe storage when not in use. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause crystals to fade over time. Keep your bracelet out of reach of children and pets, as they can easily snap the elastic.

Use a soft cloth (like microfiber) to wipe off oils, dust, or dirt. Avoid soap or harsh chemicals, and just use a damp cloth if needed. Allow your crystal bracelet to dry before wearing it again.

REMOVE BEFORE ROUGH ACTIVITIES

Avoid getting your bracelet caught on things by removing it before doing activities like playing with kids or dogs, yard work, exercise, etc. You can also wear them on your non-dominant hand to reduce chances of getting caught and snapping.

GENTLE HANDLING

The elastic can snap if handled roughly. Gently roll your bracelet over your hand when putting it on or taking it off, and avoid pulling or stretching too hard.
